On December 27, 2016, the world lost Carrie Fisher, a beloved actress, writer, and advocate for mental health. Emergency responders rushed her to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where she was placed in intensive care. Despite efforts to save her, Fisher passed away four days later. A coroner’s report later attributed her death to sleep apnea and other undetermined factors, including drug use and underlying medical conditions.
